Best of North East Tour

Day 1: ARRIVAL GUWAHATI

Meeting and assistance upon arrival as our representatives welcome you and escort you to your car. On arrival, check-in at hotel and later you will be taken to visit Heritage Sites of Delhi visiting the famous Basistha Ashram, ISKCON Guwahati, Regional Science Center, Srimanta Sankardeva Kalashetra and Bhubaneswari Temple. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2: GUWAHATI – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK

Early morning, we will visit Toklai Research Station to know everything and anything about tea-plantation. After then check out from the hotel proceed toward Kaziranga National Park. On arrival, check in at Lodge/Resort. Afternoon visit the tribal villages or the tea gardens. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Dinner and overnight at resort.

Day 3: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK

Today morning you will enjoy the elephant ride followed by an excursion to the Western range of the park. Afternoon visit the Eastern range for birding. Dinner and overnight at the Resort.

Day 4: KAZIRANGA – MAJULI ISLAND

Early morning drive to Majuli the biggest River Island in the world and seat of Baishnavite monasteries. You will cross-mighty Brahmaputra on a ferry to reach this historic Island. Overnight stay at the Govt. circuit house at Majuli.

Day 5: MAJULI – JORHAT

Majuli, the biggest river island, laps Kamalabari Satra and Auniati Satra, centers of Vaishnavite culture. Early morning visit to these satras and admire the close proximity of nature that thrills. Later in the evening drive to Jorhat. On arrival, check-in at hotel. Dinner and Night Stay.

Day 6: JORHAT – SIBASAGAR – JORHAT

After an early breakfast drive to Sibsagar to visit remains of Ahom Kingdom. Visit to Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial grounds at Charaideo. Return to Jorhat for Overnight stay.

Day 7: JORHAT – MOKOKCHUNG

After breakfast, drive to Mokokchung. On arrival, check into your hotel. Enjoy this afternoon at leisure. Go exploring the town on your own. It is the cultural hub of the Ao people. You can visit the many churches all around the town. Or you can just stroll at the Town main park, which is located just above the Town Center. Return to your hotel. Overnight at Mokokchung.

Day 8: MOKOCHUNG – MON

After an very early breakfast proceed to Mon. Colorful life and culture are an integral part of the 16 officially recognized Naga tribes of Nagaland. These 16 tribes are different and unique in their customs and traditions. Nature has been kind to the Nagas and their land. Dinner and Overnight at Mon.

Day 9: MON – DIBRUGARH

After an early breakfast, drive to Dibrugarh, gateway to Aurnachal Pradesh. Famous for tea, it has world’s largest area covered by tea gardens. Arrive and check into your hotel. Overnight at Dibrugarh.

Day 10: DIBRUGARH – PASIGHAT

After an early breakfast, cruise on Brahmaputra to Pasighat. The oldest city of Arunachal Pradesh, this city is the entrance point for Arunachal Pradesh. Arrive and check into your hotel. Overnight at Pasighat.

Day 11: PASIGHAT – ALONG

After breakfast, drive down to Along, the land of Adi Gallong tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. The idyllic town lies nestled in a picturesque valley, surrounded by lofty mountains and the beautiful rivers of Sipu and Siyom. This afternoon, after lunch, visit one of the largest Gallong tribal village called Dwarka village which has more the 1500 houses made of bamboo and palm. Enroute enjoy the great view of Siang River and Syiom River confluence. Dinner and Overnight at Along.

Day 12: ALONG – KABO VILLAGE – ALONG

Today we will go to explore Along. Visit Kabo Village, situated on the banks of Yomgo/Siyum River. While there check out the hanging bridge made of cane and bamboo on the River Yomgo. Later trek to farmer’s country towards Tuting. Later we trek back to Along. Dinner and Overnight at Along.

Day 13: ALONG – DAPORIJO

After an early breakfast, drive to Daporijo. The small town is endowed with scenic beauty. One can see suspension bridges over Subansiri River made from bamboo and cane- a testimony of rich tribal craftsmanship. Subansiri River is ideal for river rafting, angling and picnic. On arrival, check into your hotel. Overnight at Daporijo.

Day 14: DAPORIJO – ZIRO

After an early breakfast, drive to Ziro. On arrival, check into your hotel. Relax a while and then you will be taken to visit Hong Village. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15: ZIRO – APATANI AND NISHI TRIBAL VILLAGE – ZIRO

Today enjoy the full day exploring the Apatani villages and Nishi tribal Village. Later in the evening, return back to your hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Ziro.

Day 16: ZIRO – TEZPUR

After an early breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Tezpur. On arrival, check-in at hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure or you can opt. to visit Temple Durga Mandir, Chitralekha Udyan, Dakhina Kali Temple etc. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 17: TEZPUR – DIRANG

Early morning drive to Dirang. Enroute visit Tipi Orchid Park. Situated on the banks of the Bharali River, Tipi is known for the widest assortment of orchids found in India. Later drive on towards Sherdukpen tribal village at Rupa before moving onto Dirang. Move onto Dirang, another heart pulling place with scenic beauty. On arrival,check into hotel. Dinner and Night Stay.

Day 18: DIRANG  – TAWANG

The drive to Tawang from Dirang is spectacular and one of the highlights of the entire journey. Stop briefly at the Sela pass at 14000 ft. From Sela, the road goes downhill. Enroute pass Jaswantgarh. It’s a memorial to Jaswant Singh PVC of the Indian Army who single-handedly repulsed a Chinese attack but fell bravely defending his position. Also visit Sange village before entering Tawang. Overnight at Tawang.

Day 19: TAWANG

After breakfast, visit 350years old Buddhist monastery, locally known as Gompa, which seemed to be suspended from heaven in an equally ethereal space. Also visit the nunneries locally called Ani Gompa and Urgelling Monastery. It is also the birthplace of His holiness 6th Dalai Lama. In the evening enjoy ethnic Monpa tribal dances and dances by Lamas.  Dinner and Night stay.

Day 20: TAWANG – DIRANG VILLAGE

Your return journey begins with your drive to Dirang. Catch up on the sights you might have missed out before. Arrive Dirang and enjoy the day at leisure. Experience the locale flavor – head out on walks and interact with the locals to enhance your experience. Return to your hotel. Overnight at Dirang.

Day 21: DIRANG

Set out to explore Dirang. Go on a trek to Sangti Valley. Situated along the shores of Sangti River, 25 km from Bomdila near Dirang, the Sangti Valley is one of the seasonal homes of the majestic creature called the black-necked crane that flies across from China and perhaps Leh, right into its laps. Later visit the Sheep Breeding Centre, Dirang Dzong. Return to your hotel. Overnight at Dirang.

Day 22: DIRANG – TEZPUR

After an early breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Tezpur. On arrival, check-in at hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. This afternoon why not visit the historic town of Tezpur and do some exploration on your own! Overnight at Tezpur.

Day 23: TEZPUR – SHILLONG

Early morning, after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Shillong. On arrival, check-in at hotel and then take a sightseeing tour of the Scotland of East India i.e. Shillong. Here in Shillong you will visit Mawlynong, Mawsmai cave, Mawlynong village, zoological Museum, Arunachal state museum, Shillong peak and Elephant Falls. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 24: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE

After an early breakfast leave for Cherrapunjee. It is the wettest destination in the world and on your drive to Cherrapunjee; you will come across roaring waterfalls diving into unfathomable gorges. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Relax a while and then you will be taken to visit the famous Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai fall, Mawsmai Cave. Later evening return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 25: CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG

Today after an early breakfast we will go on a guided trek to visit the Double Decker living Routes Bridge, the most brilliant of all the living bridges found in the world. The scenery of the places is beyond description. Your will get amazed of walking over the roots which will quite scary at the start but once u start u will end it with great zeal. Later in the evening, we drive back to Shillong. On arrival, check into your hotel. Overnight stay hotel.

 Day 26: DEPARTURE

Early morning, have you breakfast. Check out from the hotel and board your respective flight/train to your destinations.
