Sariiska National Park


Sariska National Park is a national park and is located in the Alwar district of the state of Rajasthan. This park has a rich variety of unique species of Flora and Fauna. The Park is spread over an area of 866 square kilometers.  It is the first tiger reserve in the world to have successfully relocated tigers. Sariska National Park attracts a large number of tourist every year to witness Bengal Tigers.


Sariska National Park was established in 1978 and was given the status of Tiger Reserve after making it a part of India’s Project Tiger. Earlier, it was a hunting preserve of Maharajas and then hunting was banned by the government India by a making it a National Park.


Sariska National Park consists of thick vegetation like scrub-thorn arid, dry deciduous forests with variation in seasons and includes various trees like Dhak, Ber, Kadaya, Dhok, Gugal, Arjun, Bamboo, Salar and shrubs like JharBer, Adusta and Kair.


Tha Faunal groop found in the park includes various wild species like Sambar, Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena, Blue Bull, Jungle Cat, Royal Bengal Tiger, Chinkara, Chowsinga, Civet, Ratel, Hare Langur, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer and Four Horned Antelope.

Best time to visit:

Sariska National Park is open throughout the year. Best time to visit the park is during the months of November to June.


Visitors are advised to get in touch with officials of the sanctuary for complete information entry timings and fee.

Getting There:

By Air: The Jaipur Sanganer Airport is the nearest airport from Sariska and is located in Sanganer, approximately 107 kilometers from the National Park. All major destinations are well-connected to the Jaipur Airport.

By Rail: The nearest railway station is located at Alwar, 37 kilometers away from the Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary.

By Road: Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary is located off the Delhi-Alwar-Jaipur Road. Jaipur is located 107 kilometers away from the wildlife sanctuary and 200 kilometers from the country’s capital, New Delhi. Sariska is well-connected with Alwar, which is directly connected to NH-8.
